Wood shear nailing inspection  is typically required when nail spacing is 4" or less within the main wind/seismic force resisting system, including shearwalls, diaphragms, struts, bracing and hold downs.

WOOD SHEAR NAILING
EPOXY ANCHORS

Epoxy and mechanical anchors are typically installed in concrete and masonry structures. The inspection requirements for post-installed anchors are generally derived from the manufacturer’s published installation instructions (MPII) and from the relevant evaluation report (ICC-ES ESR or other) for the product.

Welding inspection can be performed in the shop or field. Welding on structural steel, decking, rebar and moment frames are performed to codes published by the American Welding Society. We are also qualified to write WPS, PQR forms and qualify welders which includes all necessary testing. We also perform non destructive testing when required.

  STRUCTURAL BOLTING
REINFORCED CONCRETE

Reinforced concrete and shotcrete special inspection is required when concrete strength exceeds 2,500 psi. Special inspection is performed to verify placement of reinforcing steel, observe the placement of rebar cages, taking specimens for laboratory testing and observation on the placement of concrete.

Special inspection for high strength bolting is performed by the deputy inspector when required. Bolts and tensioning methods are verified in a bolt tension calibration device. Inspection is performed on surfaces to be bolted as well as verification of bolt tension.

Structural masonry inspection is required for the observation of pre-construction prisms, placement of masonry units, reinforcement verification and the sampling and observation of mortar and grout specimens.
